Menton’s 85th Lemon Festival or Fête de Citron starts the 16th of February and ends on the 3 March. The theme this year is « Fantastic Worlds » and two weeks of fun await you so save the date ! Supporting the float processions will be an array of stilt walkers, musciens, acrobats, and actors. The Biovès Gardens will be home to whales, narwhals, giant squid and other creatures all of which will be under the spotlights of the Garden of Light. The Fête du Citron attracts 240 000 visiters and 145 tons of citrus fruits are used.
The following are the highlights :
- 17, 25 Februray and 3 March at 2 :30 pm will be the parade of golden fruit on the Promenade du Soleil with amazing floats, musical bands, drum majorettes - not to be missed !
- 21 and 28 February are the night time parades with brass bands, orchestras, folk groups and dancers making for party time. Exhibitions of citrus patterns are every day starting at 10 am 16, 21 February and 1 March from 20h30 pm: Gardens of light in the Biovès garden, sound and light show
